To fuel that growth, we have another exciting opportunity as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist - Licensing. In this role, you will support leadership in complex insurance licensing initiatives, manage cross-functional projects, and drive process improvements and procedural enhancements. This position offers a strategic opportunity to influence operational efficiency and strengthen compliance across the organization.

Responsibilities:

This role is part of the Licensing Team within the Regulatory Affairs department and plays a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance while leading organization-wide improvements in licensing processes and operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at multitasking, and has a passion for learning new things and problem-solving. This role will have a solution-oriented mindset and an ability to drive the creation of new ways of working, while understanding best practices and risk mitigation.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be self-motivated, driven, and possess a high level of problem-solving creativity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Train and mentor department staff on licensing processes, systems, and work items.
  • Manage and coordinate workflows across assigned licensing functions, including TPA, MGA, and reinsurance licensing activities.
  • Monitor and optimize daily licensing operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to established procedures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Licensing team, agency partners, and licensed employees.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support both individual and entity licensing processes, ensuring timely and compliant execution.
  • Oversee and contribute to reporting and auditing activities to ensure licensing records are accurate, complete, and compliant.
  • Assist with licensing-related components of mergers and acquisitions, including post-close integration activities.
  • Provide comprehensive support to agents and carriers through clear, professional written and verbal communication.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date regulatory documentation in alignment with team standards and timelines.
  • Contribute to the development, enhancement, and implementation of licensing processes to ensure compliance with state regulations and industry guidelines.
  • Analyze and resolve complex or non-routine licensing issues, escalating as appropriate.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher is preferred in Business Administration, Operations, Legal, Accounting, or related fields - or recognized equivalent in education and experience, required
  • Minimum of two years of experience supporting licensing functions within a regulated industry is required, with a preference for insurance or financial services experience.
  • At least three years of experience in a customer service role and/or administrative role is required

Technology Skills:

  • Possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Proven experience with ServiceNow, Monday.com, and Power BI preferred
  • Familiarity with automation technologies is a plus

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
