Our Personal Lines team is currently seeking a Assistant Regional Vice President in our New England territory. 

 

This is a Hybrid full time exempt role. 

 

Position Overview / Summary

This role reports to the PL Zonal Vice President and is responsible for leading and developing a team of Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to drive profitable growth, strengthen agency relationships, and improve retention across the assigned territory.

The position plays a critical leadership role in executing regional strategy, expanding agency penetration, and delivering strong financial results. It also provides management leverage and back-up support to the Zonal Vice President. This is a high-visibility opportunity suited for an emerging leader with a proven track record in sales, account management, and demonstrated leadership.

 

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Under the direction of the Zonal VP, this role is accountable for the following:

  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Hire, coach, and manage a team of Territory Sales Managers.
    • Oversee daily performance, productivity, and effectiveness of the team.
    • Partner with TSMs to develop and execute territory business plans.
    • Monitor and ensure achievement of production, retention, and profitability goals.
  • Strategic & Financial Execution
    • Collaborate with the Zonal VP to develop regional/state financial plans.
    • Own execution, tracking, and delivery of financial targets.
    • Manage budget responsibilities for the assigned territory.
  • Distribution & Agency Management
    • Build and deepen strong agency relationships to drive growth and retention.
    • Lead agency segmentation, penetration, and conversion strategies.
    • Drive transformation of high-potential agencies into long-term strategic partners.
  • Marketing & Product Collaboration
    • Execute all marketing programs within the territory.
    • Partner with State Management on pricing, product positioning, and market strategy.
    • Identify opportunities and advocate for new product development aligned to market needs.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership
    • Collaborate effectively with Underwriting, Operations, and Claims to enhance service delivery and agency experience.
    • Serve as a key point of escalation and problem-solving for agents and internal partners.

  • Achievement of production, retention, profit, and agency conversion targets
  • Strength and depth of agency partnerships and business planning effectiveness
  • Demonstrated leadership and development of a high-performing TSM team
  • Ability to leverage internal partnerships to drive business outcomes
  • Effectiveness in overcoming obstacles and capitalizing on market opportunities

 

Required Skills, Experience & Success Factors

  • 7+ years of Personal Lines insurance experience with a strong record of sales success
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and potential to manage and develop teams
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, competition, and territory-specific trends
  • Proven ability to build and sustain effective agency relationships
  • Expertise in Personal Lines sales, underwriting, and marketing strategies
  • Working knowledge of Commercial Lines products is a plus
  • Strong business acumen, including understanding of agency economics and regulatory environments
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel and relocate as needed

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
