The Broker drives business production by marketing, soliciting, and placing insurance coverage through accessible markets while managing relationships with agents and carriers. This role serves as an intermediary between the agent and insurance company while maintaining responsibility for execution and service delivery across assigned accounts. The core function of this role centers on generating production, managing client relationships, and executing placement strategy while providing direction and coordination to support staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive new and renewal business production by soliciting, marketing, quoting, binding, and confirming coverage for assigned accounts 

  • Negotiate coverage terms with carriers, including pricing, structures, and policy provisions, to secure appropriate solutions for clients 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, agents, and market partners to support retention and growth 

  • Analyze client needs and risk exposures to structure appropriate coverage and placement strategies 

  • Oversee the execution of placement activity, ensuring accuracy of submissions, documentation, and compliance with company standards 

  • Monitor assigned accounts to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements 

  • Provide direction and coordination to support staff to ensure effective workflow execution and service delivery 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant insurance designation preferred 

  • Experience in production and marketing of insurance accounts within a wholesale or specialty environment 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage accounts independently and drive production outcomes 

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

  • Appropriate state-specific insurance license required. Additional professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, or similar may be preferred. 

 

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS 

  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, markets, and risk placement strategies 

  • Advanced negotiation and relationship management skills with agents and carriers 

  • Ability to analyze risk profiles and develop effective coverage solutions 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple accounts and priorities 

  • Effective communication skills for internal coordination and external client interaction 

  • Ability to manage workflow execution while supporting team coordination
