As an Insurance Application Analyst, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Your main responsibilities will include:
Serving as a quality checkpoint, reviewing all new business applications for accuracy and completeness
Reviewing final expense and simplified issue applications to render decisions on insurability, including approvals, declinations, and plan changes within stated guidelines
Exercising an authorized approval limit of $300,000
Conducting research such as MVR checks, criminal record searches, and vendor database reviews to validate applicant information
Identifying concerns with agent business practices and escalating when appropriate
Determining required underwriting documentation and preparing correspondence to agents
Entering accurate, detailed case notes to ensure transparency of actions taken and next steps
Conducting business ethically, in compliance with laws, regulations, and company standards
We’re looking for someone who:
Is known for their exceptional attention to detail
Stands out for their analytical thinking and sound judgment
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
Is recognized for their ability to work independently and collaboratively
Has 1+ years of experience in life insurance, underwriting, or a related field, or a strong consumer‑level understanding of life insurance concepts
Meets the Charter of the French Language requirement (if applicable): Beginner, intermediate, or advanced English proficiency, as the role involves communicating with internal teams and agents regularly
Additional capabilities that support success:
Solid understanding of company products, plans, and applications
Working knowledge of MIB codes and common medications
Typing speed of 35 WPM with 90% accuracy
Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and the ability to learn internal systems quickly
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure
Willingness to work overtime as business needs require
