Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Vice President, Head of Investment Operations & Process Excellence to join our Treasury team


This role will be responsible for overseeing the transformation of Sompo’s Treasury and Investment operations. Reporting to the Global Treasurer and a trusted advisor to the Global Treasurer, Chief Investment Officer, investment professionals, and regional Treasurers, the incumbent will oversee Investment Operations and develop a road map to streamline the end-to-end Treasury and Investment operations process.


The role will be a key stakeholder for the Regional Treasury teams as they develop processes to streamline local processes.  The incumbent will work closely with internal and external auditors to review process design and controls.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Serve as the primary advisor for driving decisions into Treasury and Investment operational process.
  • Support the transformation towards globally integrated Treasury and Investment operations.
  • Maintain and own the process taxonomy for Investments and Treasury.
  • Oversee the collateral management process for all entities.
  • Oversee the investment operations process globally.
  • Develop and administer policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury and investment operations activities and develop.
  • Maintain and administer all Treasury and Investment operations systems, including Kyriba, FXAll, Bloomberg OMS.
  • Monitor and manage execution-related risk, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Develop and enforce strong internal controls, effective security measures and financial management policies
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within investment and treasury operations.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational performance.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to implement system enhancements and upgrades

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related Operations related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience as a senior member of a Treasury or Investment Operations function in financial services
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, markets, and investment strategies.
  • Strong leadership qualities influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in treasury management systems and investment platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and build relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to investment and treasury operations.

Salary Range: $210,000 – $230,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
