The Team Producer is responsible for managing and growing a book of business within an assigned team or office while serving as a senior advisor to clients. This role drives production performance through placement of insurance solutions, client relationship management, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The core function of this role centers on balancing individual production with team contribution, including supporting workflow execution, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to business growth and retention.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive new and renewal business by soliciting, marketing, quoting, binding, and confirming coverage for assigned accounts 

  • Manage and grow a book of business by developing client relationships and identifying opportunities for retention and expansion 

  • Negotiate coverage terms with carriers, including pricing, structures, and policy provisions, for complex or high-value accounts 

  • Analyze client needs and risk exposures to develop appropriate coverage strategies and insurance solutions 

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including support staff and specialists, to ensure timely execution, accuracy, and compliance with company standards 

  • Provide direction and oversight to support staff to ensure effective communication, workflow coordination, and adherence to policies and procedures 

  • Mentor and guide junior producers and team members to support development and performance outcomes 

  • Monitor market conditions, emerging risks, and competitive trends to identify growth opportunities and inform placement strategy 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant insurance designation preferred 

  • Extensive experience in insurance production, brokerage, or related roles 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a book of business and drive production results 

  • Experience mentoring or guiding team members within a production environment 

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

  • Appropriate state-specific insurance license required. Professional designations such as CPCU, CIC, or ARM may be preferred. 

 

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS 

  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, risk structures, and market placement strategies 

  • Advanced negotiation and influencing skills with carriers and clients 

  • Ability to analyze complex risks and develop tailored insurance solutions 

  • Strong relationship management skills with clients, agents, and internal stakeholders 

  • Organizational and time management skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines 

  • Ability to mentor and support development of junior team members 

  The annual base salary for this position is $150,000.00
