Position Responsibilities
As a Senior Staff Engineering Manager, you will:
Work with your senior leadership to address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate incremental delivery dates for milestones with the stakeholder community, and deliver projects on time
File Exchange: Lead the File Exchange Platform team responsible for GEICO's tier-1 secure file transfer service (~3M monthly transfers). Drive modernization from ticket-based operations to a self-service portal, and CMDB-driven self-certification, deliver high availability and geo-distributed resiliency across data centers, and meet NYDFS/PCI compliance and vulnerability SLAs while reducing onboarding cycle time and support burden.
Unified Platform Experience and DOCAT: Lead the UPE team that defines the paved road for PaaS service providers — Platform SDKs (Python, Go, TypeScript, Java), Platform Client UI/UX, IaC as a Service. Standardize onboarding, provisioning, deployment, and lifecycle management across public and private cloud; drive onboarding user experience; and deliver blueprint-IaC solutions for consistent, defect-free service integration.
Unified Control Plane (UCP) : Drive shared engineering outcomes with UCP partners — advancing UCP to a production-ready tier-1 platform with audit trails, observability-as-code, governance and FinOps integration.
Define and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure the platform meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.
