JOB DESCRIPTION:
**This role will cover a territory of Arizona and New Mexico. This role will be work from home and MUST reside within the territory**.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Responsible for developing an expert level knowledge of all CNA Surety products and services to sell and educate agency customers on the services and solutions to meet customer needs and achieve call/sales quotas per week and month.
Conduct regular sales calls to all agencies in assigned territory to create interest, manage and enhance relationships and brand loyalty to achieve increased business retention and new premium growth. Adjust to market changes to determine most effective and efficient method for relationship touchpoints.
Utilize and leverage all technology resources effectively, particularly for virtual contacts, to address customer needs and deliver effective selling strategies, including presentations.
Use creative communication skills to effectively educate and train agents on the use of agent automation services (Portal, bONdLINE, Direct Bill, ePay, etc.) or other product and technology changes/enhancements for ease of doing business.
Manage all logistics of being highly visible within the territory and maintaining a rigorous and effective schedule setting daily/weekly virtual account contacts along with monthly in-person agency visits. Responsible for personally contacting all agents and prospects as outlined in the Marketing Representative's Procedure Manual (the manual) to generate increased production.
As a relationship manager, field and listen to agent customers and gather any details relating to an agent complaint as outlined in the manual so it can be addressed and resolved.
Prospect for and seek out new agency appointments or other business opportunities utilizing many resources. Identify all agents in the assigned territory with growth opportunities which have good commercial and contract bond business. Appoint them or place them on the prospect list.
Build effective relationships and regularly participate in collaboration meetings with internal and external customers to align efforts, set sales strategies, drive business and deliver best possible service. This includes collaborating with leadership and the underwriting team who executes on new business opportunities.
Through agency contacts and research, gather and record agency and market intelligence for territory and all key markets. Collaborates with Underwriting on market alignment, sales and marketing plans, and other opportunities with goal of premium growth in territory.
Active involvement in industry and agency associations to monitor industry activities that may affect Company operations.
Research, monitor and report on legislative activities within the states in the territory for changes which may affect the operations of the Company. Contact governmental agencies, as needed, to gather information and/or provide surety bond education.
Responsible for utilizing reporting available to determine delinquent accounts and assist with accounts receivable collection within the territory.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, sales and telephone skills.
Ability to confidently and effectively interact with internal and external customers/partners and deliver impactful presentations, as needed.
Ability to provide highest level of customer service, actively seek out new business opportunities and meet or exceed sales goals.
Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to work independently on multiple tasks efficiently, adapt and collaborate within a team environment.
Strong knowledge of insurance and surety industry practices. Accounting or business-related experience.
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as ability to learn other business-related software.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sales or business development, or customer-facing role.
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in sales and/or marketing.
