Brown & Brown is seeking an Eligibility Specialist to join our growing team in St. Petersburg, FL!
The Employee Benefits Eligibility Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the eligibility process for employee benefits programs. This role ensures that employees are correctly enrolled in benefits plans, maintains eligibility records, and handles complex eligibility issues. The specialist will work closely with employees, carriers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure compliance with benefit plan requirements and regulations.
How You Will Contribute:
Eligibility Management:
Administer and manage the eligibility requirements for various employee benefits programs.
Review and process employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations to ensure accurate eligibility status.
Maintain up-to-date records of employee eligibility, including tracking and documenting changes in status.
Coordination with Benefits Providers:
Work closely with carrier and vendor partners to ensure accurate and timely processing of eligibility information.
Resolve discrepancies and issues related to eligibility with insurance carriers and third-party administrators.
Reporting and Analysis:
Generate and analyze reports related to benefits eligibility, including tracking enrollment trends, and identifying potential issues.
Investigate and resolve discrepancy reports for electronic file feeds and report or correct the Benefits Administration systems to accurately transmit future enrollments.
Record Keeping and Audits:
Maintain detailed records of benefits eligibility data and transactions.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information related to eligibility.
Additional Duties:
Ensure all accounts comply with internal company standards through self-audit process.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Licenses & Certifications:
Florida Life & Health Insurance license (2-15)
Valid driver’s license
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Required
Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Proficient with MS Office Suite and Excel
Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Travel - This position requires routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or rental vehicle. Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hiring and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements for this position.
Preferred
Associate’s or Bachelor’s in a business or financial related discipline
Professional designation
Minimum typing speed of 40 to 50 words per minute
