The Managing Director leads the delivery of countrywide Risk Control Services to improve underwriting results through risk improvement, risk retention strategies, and underwriting risk assessment. Identifies, develops, and executes high-level Risk Control strategies, services, and programs with an emphasis on influencing major areas of risk by industry and strengthening Liberty Mutual’s market position.
Accountable for building a high-performance culture, continuous process improvement, service management, workforce management, and measurable impact for large or highly complex customers. Serves as a strategic partner to underwriting and other key business leaders, ensuring Risk Control is aligned to business priorities, service expectations, and enterprise growth objectives. Leads teams to operate as business influencers who can shape decisions, build trust, communicate value, and influence outcomes across internal and external stakeholders.
Brings demonstrated experience using data to articulate TCOR reduction and ROI, applying process and technology improvements to increase value delivery to clients, and rapidly translating new tools, data, and concepts into practical service solutions. Maintains working knowledge of the insuretech landscape, consults effectively with clients in a rapidly evolving technology environment, and coach’s teams on project management, consultative selling, and the delivery of strategic, client-focused solutions.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
