Brown & Brown is seeking a Financial Operations Analyst to join our growing team in Greensboro, NC.
The purpose of the Financial Operations Analyst is to serve as the subject-matter expert responsible for interpreting complex datasets, developing and making recommendations that influence business operations, financial reporting and leadership decision-making. The role exercises independent judgement to design standards, evaluate risks, and drive continuous improvement.
How You Will Contribute:
Own the end-to-end data validation lifecycle; develop audit methodologies; evaluate estimated vs. actual transfer values; and resolve discrepancies using independent judgement, communicating findings and corrective actions to leadership.
Design and maintain reporting templates and controls that improve the accuracy of month-end revenue recognition related to transfers; advise Finance leadership on exceptions and control enhancements.
Establish and maintain organization-wide integrity standards monitoring procedures; ensure adherence and escalate risk items with recommended remediation.
Continuously assess data flows across platforms (e.g. AMS, ImageRight, Dynamics) and design improvements to capture critical fields and prevent quality defects.
Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives, quantifying impact, defining success metrics, and implementing changes to procedures to elevate quality and operational performance.
Develop executive-level reporting frameworks, dashboards, and KPIs (e.g. retention, attrition, production, quote-to-bind), providing interpretive insights and recommendations that inform executive decisions.
Proactively identify data gaps and control weaknesses; recommend system enhancements, data model adjustments, and validation rules to improve quality at the source.
Map and evaluate end-to-end workflows; define critical data elements (CDEs), data ownership, and implement governance practices across stakeholder teams.
Perform additional data-driven or analytical projects as assigned, determining appropriate methodologies and communicating implications to stakeholders.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
4-year college degree from accredited university.
Proven experience in advanced data analysis, data governance, or business intelligence roles.
Advanced Excel and strong proficiency with analytics and visualization (e.g., Power BI)
Proficient knowledge with one or more of the following products: Vertafore AMS360, lmageRight, Microsoft Dynamics and Power Bl
Demonstrated ability to conduct complex analyses, identify root causes, and develop data-driven recommendations with minimal supervision.
Strong prioritization skills across multiple high-impact initiatives.
Ability to manage sensitive information with professional discretion and maintain high standards of confidentiality.
Exceptional communication skills; able to influence decisions through clear storytelling and evidence-based insights.
