Bridge Specialty Group is seeking an Associate Broker – Small Business Unit (SBU) to join our growing team in Madison, Wisconsin!
The Associate Broker - SBU is responsible for supporting the retention and growth of the company’s Small Business Unit (SBU). This role works closely with insurance agents nationwide to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain strong client relationships, and provide technical expertise in environmental insurance. The Associate Broker serves as a key liaison between carriers, clients, agents, and other business partners to facilitate new business opportunities, renewals, and ongoing account service. This role does not typically require the use of a personal or rental vehicle for business purposes.
How You Will Contribute:
Work with insurance agents nationally to retain clients and deliver exceptional service, including explaining policy coverage, advantages, and disadvantages.
Provide prompt, accurate, and professional customer service, addressing inquiries regarding coverage, policy changes, claims support, and billing clarifications.
Support and lead the service team to meet yearly and monthly production goals.
Maintain accurate records of all activities in the management database system.
Establish payment arrangements and assist with premium collection per agency guidelines.
Review policies and quotes for accuracy before sending them to insurance agents.
Manage retention of existing and new businesses using spreadsheets, company databases, and various communication tools.
Provide backup support for other teammates, including data entry, marketing, and quality control.
Be available remotely during non-scheduled hours to ensure client retention, including answering urgent emails and forwarding business calls.
Maintains compliance with Quality Control guidelines.
Licenses and Certifications:
An active state insurance license.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) or more years of successful commercial property & casualty insurance experience.
Experience with EPIC, Salesforce, or equivalent management systems.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe.
Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
Preferred:
Insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM, CIC).
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience in environmental insurance or wholesale brokerage.
