The Corporate and Warranty Claims Litigation Counsel will manage and oversee all corporate and warranty related litigation, arbitration, disputes and claims involving Amynta. This attorney will act as a key strategic partner to Amynta’s business leaders, offering expert legal advice on corporate and warranty litigation, directing and managing outside counsel, and driving risk mitigation strategies that protect Amynta’s financial interests and preserve its reputation.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Oversee all corporate litigation, including commercial, contractual and regulatory enforcement matters.
• Lead and manage all warranty and service contract related litigation, including consumer claims, coverage disputes, subrogation and dealer/vendor disputes.
• Develop and implement aggressive litigation strategies that align with Amynta’s business objectives and actively manage risk exposure.
• Lead, direct and oversee outside counsel, ensuring effective case strategy, cost management and high-performance advocacy.
• Assess claims and potential exposure, and pursue favorable resolutions through negotiation, settlement or litigation as appropriate.
• Manage and prepare responses to demand letters, subpoenas and discovery requests.
• Coordinate internal fact investigations and witness preparation.
• Provide input on contract drafting and claims-handling procedures from a litigation-risk perspective.
• Assist with regulatory inquiries and investigations.
• Track litigation metrics, analyze trends and regularly report litigation status, risk exposure and legal spend to senior management.
Qualifications
• J.D. degree and admitted to a U.S. Bar.
• 6-8 years of experience handling litigation and dispute resolution, with a focus on insurance, warranty, or consumer claims.
• Strong background in complex commercial litigation, corporate disputes and regulatory enforcement matters.
• Experience with warranty/service contract law and consumer protection statutes, and knowledge of coverage principles and claims-handling standards.
• Demonstrated track record of partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve disputes prior to litigation.
• Proven ability to manage outside counsel, litigation budgets, and multi-jurisdictional matters.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present clear, business oriented summaries of complex legal issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
• Prior experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industry preferred.
Compensation
Base salary to be commiserate with experience, plus bonus eligibility. Our compensation package is tailored to individual qualifications and takes into account factors such as: geographical location, relevant experience, skills and knowledge pertaining to this role and industry.
Location
This position is based in New York and is an in-office role; regular on-site presence is required to support team collaboration, client interaction, and business operations.
