Nationwide Insurance is seeking candidates for Generative AI (GenAI) Intern positions to join the Enterprise Analytics Office (EAO) from May to August 2027 in Columbus, Ohio.
EAO Data Scientists support all of Nationwide’s products by working with business partners to develop integrated, end-to-end solutions contributing to company success. We uphold a high standard for methodological rigor using sound statistical inference and robust model validation in our daily work.
As a GenAI Intern, you will focus on applying large language models (LLMs), AI agents, and agentic workflows to drive innovation and operational efficiency across the insurance value chain. Graduate candidates will be considered, from related majors. Some statistical and/or technical background is preferred.
Desired Experience: Candidates should demonstrate hands on experience with the following:
Experience with LLMs, AI agents, and agentic systems
Experience with NLP, deep learning, and generative modeling techniques
Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines
Experience with cloud platforms and MLOps best practices
Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Transformers, Scikit-learn)
Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes) and CI/CD for ML pipelines a major plus
As an intern in the EAO, you’ll be part of a highly collaborative work environment and develop valuable technical and nontechnical skills beneficial to your development as a professional.
