The State Manager is responsible for developing and executing the business strategy for the assigned state(s) within the Personal Lines Product Department. This role manages growth, retention and profitability and is responsible for planning, forecasting, pricing, product development, regulatory filing strategy, and financial performance of assigned personal lines products and states. The State Manager partners closely with Actuarial, Underwriting, Finance, Operations, Legal, Sales & Marketing and Claims to influence decisions, align priorities, and ensure products remain competitive, compliant, profitable, and aligned with Arbella’s objectives. Under direct supervision assist underwriters in front line underwriting of an assigned territory. Evaluate new business, renewals and endorsements for personal auto, property and liability risks for acceptance or denial in accordance with Company Underwriting Guidelines and Philosophies. Demonstrate excellent clerical and technical skills. Interact with agents, other company personnel and outside vendors. Refer all items outside authority level to underwriter.
