The Staff Attorney I (official NJM job title) performs coverage analysis, drafts and reviews relevant communications, which may include reservation of rights letters and coverage position letters associated with claims under personal and commercial insurance policies.  The Staff Attorney I also monitors outside insurance defense litigation, coverage litigation, and appellate work under the supervision of a more senior attorney.  The Staff Attorney I provides General Claims staff with legal advice regarding coverage and various claims questions, assists in responding to regulatory and consumer inquiries, and advises on legal developments in case law, statutes and regulations.  The Staff Attorney I also provides General Claims Legal perspective to NJM business units on various matters including fraud, policy language, marketing materials, and legislation.
