Job Summary The Underwriter: Provides underwriting and marketing profitability support for assigned SPG Transportation – Moving and Storage Programs.  The strongest candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience underwriting in the transportation, preferably in the Moving & Storage sector.   Scope of Responsibilities: Receive and evaluate applicants’ information for risk acceptability and within program parameters for new and/or renewal customers through an understanding of company policies, procedures and standards and proper application to risks Research outside sources for additional and supporting information Calculate premiums and appropriate amounts of coverage – recommend program changes or enhancements based on our products and services Be cognizant of program and own underwriting authority and referral standards and work within authority and refer to others when needed or outside own authority Negotiate terms and conditions with agents and...
