Cross Insurance is seeking an experienced Claims Advocate II to manage and advocate for all types of claims from first notice of loss through final resolution. This role serves as a dedicated client advocate, providing guidance, support, and claim oversight throughout the claims process, with a particular focus on personal and commercial property losses.

The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and a commitment to delivering a positive client experience.  They must also demonstrate strong property claims expertise, including knowledge of property valuation, repair and reconstruction processes, restoration timelines, and coordination of multiple resources to ensure successful claim resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and personal lines claims from initial reporting through final settlement and closure.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and advocate for clients throughout the claims process.
  • Provide specialized expertise in personal and commercial property losses, including fire, water, wind, theft, liability, and catastrophe-related claims.
  • Assist clients in understanding coverage, claim procedures, and next steps following a loss.
  • Review property valuations, repair estimates, replacement cost calculations, and claim settlements.
  • Coordinate with adjusters, contractors, restoration vendors, engineers, appraisers, attorneys, and other claim professionals to facilitate timely claim resolution.
  • Monitor rebuilding and restoration timelines and help clients navigate the recovery process.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients, carriers, and claim partners regarding claim status and developments.
  • Document claim activity and maintain accurate claim records within agency management systems.
  • Identify claim challenges and advocate for fair and efficient claim outcomes.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support during what is often a stressful and emotional experience for clients.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Property & Casualty claims experience, with a strong emphasis on personal lines and property claims.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of residential and commercial property losses, reconstruction processes, and property valuation methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating multiple vendors, resources, and stakeholders through project completion.
  • Strong customer service and client relationship skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Industry designations such as AIC, CPCU, CIC, or equivalent.
  • Experience handling complex or high-value property claims.
