Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead Data Pipeline Development: Own end-to-end data pipeline development, including architecting scalable, fault-tolerant workflows for complex data sources. Systems to include Alteryx, Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, dbt Labs, and other tools.
  • Data Governance and Security: Establish and enforce data governance, privacy, and security standards within data pipelines, ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects: Partner with data architects to design data models that align with long-term goals for data integration and analytics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and tailor solutions.
  • Technical Mentorship: Mentor and review the work of junior and mid-level data engineers, providing feedback on code quality, pipeline design, and optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology or engineering, or math related, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of work-related experience. Knowledge of property casualty insurance preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Skilled in building and optimizing large‑scale data sets, pipelines, and ETL processes, with experience working across diverse structured and unstructured data sources. Demonstrates the ability to perform root‑cause analysis on complex data issues and utilize APIs or RPA for third‑party data integration; Salesforce experience is a plus. Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Azure, with a commitment to maintaining data privacy and compliance standards including HIPAA and E&O requirements.
  • Technical Competencies: Demonstrates strong business and technology knowledge to understand organizational needs, make informed decisions, and deliver effective technology solutions supported by sound processes and procedures. Possesses advanced analytical skills to identify opportunities or root causes, apply logical reasoning to assess information, and develop and execute effective outcomes.
