Building and Site Specialist (Primarily Office)

Job Description

As a Building and Site Specialist with American Family you will be responsible for providing program administration, vendor management and physical site inspection services related to building infrastructure and environments company buildings. You will ensure the building asset protection, expense efficiency, vendor performance, and proactive maintenance operations and operational, capital planning.

In this primarily office-based role, you will be expected to spend at least 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from one of the following office locations(s): Madison, WI 53783

Position Compensation Range:

$29.91 - $49.52

Pay Rate Type:

Hourly

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

• Assess the skill level of engineering technicians within the department provides both classroom and field training in response.

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair activities which may include inspecting, monitoring, and fixing.

• Oversee water heating and cooling systems which includes inspections, maintenance and changing settings.

• Perform authorized building automation system functions to include start/stop sequencing of equipment, set point overrides, alarm/temperature monitoring, and diagnostics.

• Handle electrical requirements which may include testing generators and materials, disconnecting and reconnecting electrically powered appliances.

• Oversee operation of on call emergency service response.

• Serve as a first responder for problems involving plumbing and kitchen problems dealing with plumbing systems, water heaters and softeners and kitchen appliances.

• Develop processes and ensures appropriate documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in HVAC engineering and with electrical systems and generators.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring, training staff, and leadership.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

Preferred Qualifications (Optional, if accurate)

  • Associate degree in Industrial maintenance/electronics.
  • Experience working with building automation systems (BAS).
  • Experience with computerized maintenance/work order systems (CMMS)
  • HVAC or electrical certifications/licenses (if applicable in your locations).

• Up to 10%.

Physical Requirements

• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods

• Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

• Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.

• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
