This role supports Middle Market Customers by working closely with Client Managers providing daily service to our Life, Disability and Absence Management clients. The Account Consultant works closely with the Client Managers on executing business plans and delivering on initiatives. The Account Consultant acts as an internal and external point of contact on issue resolution, partners with cross-functional internal partners to drive client initiatives, and monitors projects and open tasks.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Helps to maintains account management database (salesforce.com) for assigned clients.
Maintains standard operating procedures as needed.
CLIENT SUPPORT
Partners with Client Managers on a book of business comprised of 2,000 lives and under.
Works effectively with Client Managers, sales and operational partners to realize client goals.
Maintains client contact sheets and is responsible for managing the contact sheet repository.
Facilitates eServices new user access and troubleshoots user issues.
Supports Client and Broker reporting requests (eServices, Datamart).
Trains and supports clients on employer facing systems.
Supports brokers on Schedule A and Schedule C requests.
Ongoing maintenance of client payroll calendars for accurate benefit calculation.
Works with clients on communications such as Intake letters and scripting.
CLIENT MANAGEMENT
Delivers exceptional customer service as the main point of contact for clients on day-to-day account management needs, including but not limited to, reporting, contracts and plan design, data analytics, evidence of insurability, performance guarantee monitoring and delivery, billing and, client termination procedures, task workflows, service tickets and client change notices, issue resolution and general inquiries.
Develops strong relationships with Client Managers, clients, consultants, sales partners, operations and other internal and external partners.
Achieves or exceeds assigned metrics for client persistency, and customer satisfaction.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience
Bachelors Degree in related field required.
2 years of industry/group insurance experience required.
Group Life and Health licenses required.
Self-driven, motivated individual with a consultative mindset and strong skills at building strong relationships.
Ability to work as a team, under the direction of Client Managers.
Knowledge of group insurance underwriting a plus.
Expertise with PowerPoint, Excel and Word and other basic Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to Travel: Up to 10%
Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
