Agency Services Analyst I

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Underwriting Operations, the Agency Services Analyst is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the various agency services functions such as but not limited to: ensuring compliance with regard to agency and producer license appointments in all states; administration, drafting, and modification of agency contracts; managing vendor relationships on several applications; facilitating the progress and success of the leads program for all regions; and working independently as well as with other departments to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of all agency services functions to maximize customer service.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities


* Verifies, coordinates, and processes all producer and/or agency appointments for MEMIC. This includes daily interaction with various Underwriting teams and agencies.
* Collects and maintains proprietary producer and agency information while handling under the strictest of confidence.
* Ensures timely submission of license and appointment materials to third party vendors and/or licensing bureaus for the completion of license and appointment renewals.
* Researches license renewal and appointment rejections and escalate as needed.
* Analyzes and facilitates company contingent commission plans and present to Senior leadership and agency principals.
* Works independently with vendors to create and maintain efficiency within our various applications.
* Analyzes and facilitates lead data as part of the Underwriting Leads Program for all regions.
* Creates and maintains agency records within the various company systems and communicates internally as needed.
* Drafts contracts for new agency relationships and facilitates the receipt and submission of the fully executed contracts via DocuSign.
* Analyzes and interprets data to develop steps that will improve agency services processes and results.
* Responds to loss run requests from agents and policyholders within 24 hours of request.
* Responds to questions from agents received via telephone, mail, email and/or fax.
* Assists with Quick Comp related support. This includes the initial setup of new users within the portal and Help Line support.


Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


* Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience is preferred.
* Property & casualty insurance industry knowledge preferred.
* Proficient in typing and PC skills, strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Adobe and PowerPoint.
* Must be highly organized; detail oriented, have good written and communication skills and able to work independently and have exceptional creative thinking skills.
* Ability to organize and prioritize assigned work, interpret data, meet deadlines, work independently and manage multiple tasks.
* Must be a team player, highly focused and maintain professionalism at all levels.
* Must provide superior customer service to internal and external clients at all times.
* Strong presentation skills with the ability to speak confidently in front of both small and large groups, as well as all levels of an organization.


Working Conditions


1. Normal office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise and temperature variations.
2. Willingness to travel among company sites as needed.
3. Will be required to stand and/or sit for extended periods.
4. Will be required to work with a Video Display Terminal.
5. May be required to do occasional reaching and bending.
6. May be required to occasionally exert physical effort (lifting/carrying) using appropriate equipment if needed.
7. Full-time is required.
