Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Employee Benefits Producer / Sales Executive to drive new business growth and expand our market presence. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing new corporate accounts, offering tailored employee benefits solutions (including group health, dental, vision, life, disability, and wellness programs).

The ideal candidate is a high-energy hunter with a proven track record in B2B sales, a deep understanding of the insurance landscape, and the ability to build trust with C-suite executives and HR leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Prospecting: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified corporate leads through cold calling, networking, community involvement, and strategic partnerships.
  • Consultative Selling: Conduct comprehensive discovery meetings with prospective clients to understand their financial goals, HR challenges, and employee culture.
  • Strategic Plan Design: Collaborate with the underwriting and account management teams to design, present, and sell customized, competitive benefits packages.
  • C-Suite Presentations: Effectively communicate the value proposition of our services to CEOs, CFOs, and HR Directors, aligning benefits strategies with their corporate bottom line.
  • Relationship Management: Ensure a seamless transition of new clients to the Account Management team while maintaining a high-level strategic relationship to promote client retention and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Market Awareness: Stay ahead of industry trends, healthcare reform laws (such as the ACA), compliance regulations, and competitive intelligence to act as a trusted advisor to clients.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience & Education

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably within the employee benefits, insurance brokerage, or SaaS/HR technology space.
  • Licensing: Active Life and Health Insurance License required (or willingness to obtain within the first 30 days of employment).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills; comfortable commanding a room of executive decision-makers.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Negotiation & Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex benefits data, renewal claims, and financial models to negotiate effectively with carriers and clients.

What We Offer

  • Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $90,000–$110,000 annually..  Actual compensation will be based on factors including location, skills, experience, and internal equity. Cross Insurance offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off, and more.
  • Support System: Dedicated Account Managers and Analysts to handle renewals, day-to-day service, and administrative tasks, allowing you to focus purely on selling.
