Summary

Jewelers Mutual is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Grounds Crew Temp to join our Facilities team. This role is responsible for the upkeep and beautification of the campus grounds through landscaping, lawn care, and general exterior maintenance. The ideal candidate is reliable, takes pride in outdoor work, and is comfortable operating various tools and equipment.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Perform routine lawn maintenance, including mowing grass across campus grounds
  • Remove weeds from landscaping beds and outdoor areas
  • Spread mulch and black fill as needed for landscaping projects
  • Plant grass and assist with other basic horticulture tasks
  • Use weed eaters, blowers, and other equipment to maintain a clean appearance around buildings and walkways
  • Blow off and clean campus parking lots and sidewalks
  • Wash and maintain exterior facility equipment and tools
  • Support the general maintenance crew with additional duties as needed

What You’ll Bring: 

Minimum Qualifications 
  • Ability to safely operate lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, and other grounds equipment
  • Physically able to perform manual labor in various weather conditions (standing, lifting, bending, etc.)
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of employment
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance preferred
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Physical Requirements 
  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions
  • May require early morning start times, especially during peak maintenance seasons
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
  • Regularly required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds (may vary based on your specific needs)
  • Operates a variety of equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, snow removal equipment, and small hand tools
  • May be exposed to loud noises, vibration, dust, and fumes
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and work on uneven terrain
  • Occasionally required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays based on weather or maintenance needs
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection may be required
