Senior IT Architect

Job Title: Senior IT Architect – Cloud & Enterprise AI

Reports To: Director of IT Operations

Summary:
The Senior IT Architect owns the overall design of Cross Insurance's IT operational systems, with a primary focus on cloud infrastructure and enterprise-level AI adoption. This role sets technical direction for scalable, secure, and integrated architecture as the organization grows, partnering closely with IT Operations, Security, and Development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and govern enterprise-wide IT architecture, including cloud infrastructure, integration patterns, and system scalability
• Lead architectural strategy for enterprise AI adoption, including tooling evaluation, platform integration, and governance/compliance considerations
• Partner with IT Operations leadership to align infrastructure design with day-to-day operational needs and reliability requirements
• Evaluate and recommend infrastructure and platform investments
• Establish architecture standards, documentation, and best practices across IT and development teams
• Serve as a technical bridge between systems administration, development, and business stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Strong background in systems administration or infrastructure engineering, with growing experience in architecture-level design
• Demonstrated cloud platform experience (GCP and/or Azure)
• Exposure to or hands-on experience with enterprise AI/LLM tooling and adoption
• Healthcare or other regulated industry experience preferred
• Strong communication skills; able to translate technical strategy for both operational and leadership audiences
