Summary:
The Commercial Lines Insurance Advisor manages a portfolio of mid-to-large revenue tier clients while also generating new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in insurance, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a proactive approach to client management and business development.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Client Relationship Management: Take ownership of client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for all insurance-related inquiries and needs.  Retain clients by building strong relationships and ultimately becoming a strategic business partner.  Develop and maintain deep relationships with key clients, understanding their unique requirements and providing tailored insurance solutions.  Explore clients’ other business operations to become their holistic insurance agent of choice.  Maximize opportunities to educate clients about loss prevention and security strategies, product features, and carrier underwriting recommendations.
  2. Key Client Management: Effectively manage a portfolio of mid-to-large revenue tier clients, ensuring their insurance needs are met promptly and efficiently.  Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional insurance products and services.
  3. New Business Production: Drive revenue growth through strategic account management, client retention, and new business sales.  Identify potential clients, conduct thorough needs assessments, and present comprehensive insurance proposals to secure new accounts.  Conduct coverage gap analyses to advise clients of potential exposures and solutions, resulting in the addition of necessary lines of business.
  4. Risk Analysis and Program Design: Analyze client exposures and design comprehensive insurance programs that effectively mitigate risks while aligning with their budget and goals.  Conduct coverage gap analyses to advise clients of potential exposures and solutions, resulting in the addition of necessary lines of business.
  5. Carrier and Underwriter Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with underwriters to leverage their expertise and secure customized solutions for clients. Maintain open communication channels to facilitate smooth transactions and address any issues promptly.
  6. System and Policy Compliance: Maintain accurate client records, policy documentation, and renewal schedules.  Process policy endorsements, amendments, and other administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.  Assist with maintaining compliance with industry regulations and agency standards.
  7. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute ideas to enhance operational efficiency and client service delivery.
  8. Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality in handling client information and adhere to all privacy regulations and protocols.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven experience in commercial lines insurance sales and client management
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license
  • Strong understanding of insurance products, policies, and coverage options
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on exceeding sales targets and revenue goals
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred
  • Advanced industry designations such as CIC, CPCU, CRM, or similar is preferred
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software and CRM systems

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations   

  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license required
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls; and talk or hear.
