Description
Maintain responsibility for a portfolio of insurance programs. Provide; leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to underwriting staff. Bring deep knowledge of products, underwriting and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage underwriting files, including policy reviews, inspection reports, and endorsement documentation
- Manage new business flow and authority guidelines
- Grow internal and external relationships
- Market intelligence, underwriting, carrier appetites and underwriting guidelines
- Hire, train and mentor
- Build and sustain a high performance culture through an entrepreneurial approach
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8+ years of total underwriting experience
- 2+ years in a supervisory or management role preferred
- P&C licensed
- Continuing education/professional designations are a plus
